We are currently focused on building disaster resilience in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam, supporting Habitat’s efforts in providing safer shelter, water and sanitation facilities for families and building local community members’ capacity in disaster preparedness, mitigation and climate change adaption.
Boral staff from Australia have participated in two Global Village builds with Habitat: the Rock the House builds in 2016 and 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, contributing to the funding and building of four homes for a flood-prone rural community.
In Australia, Boral supports Habitat through the donation of construction and building materials, as well as volunteering for the domestic home building program and Brush with Kindness volunteer days.
Since commencing our partnership in 2014, Boral’s support has helped build or repair more than 50 disaster resilient homes, 45 water wells and train more than 1,800 people in community-based disaster preparedness.
